“If You Wish Upon Me” is filled with many touching and heartfelt moments that can move anyone to tears. It’s soft, poignant storytelling is like no other and there is deep, meaningful purpose behind every scene. From characters, to the plot, and even the cinematography, “If You Wish Upon Me” is a masterpiece, hitting every emotion imaginable. It’s hard to believe that this is the last week of the healing K-Drama, but all good things must come to end. 1. Team Genie’s First Wish
When we meet Team Genie, they leave us breathless as they fulfill the first wish of the series and make it snow during the summer. As they carry out the wish, they have faces of pure and innocent bliss. This sets the tone for the rest of the drama which promises to be filled with heartfelt sincerity. What makes it extra special is that it connects Yoon GyeoRee (Ji ChangWook), Seo YeonJoo (SooYoung), and Kang TaeSik (Sung DongIl) for the first time.
2. The Tangerine Tree Comes Back To Life
At this time, GyeoRee is still rough around the edges and continues to think of himself as separate from Team Genie. But after a late night talk with patient Pyeon YongHo (Jeon MooSong), he shows hints of promise. Filling up the tangerine tree is one of GyeoRee’s first moments of sincerity and care towards the patients of the hospice. It shows that his heart is still soft, tender, and filled with so much love.
3. SeHui Makes Her Musical Debut
In “If You Wish Upon Me”, nothing is impossible for Team Genie. They help cancer patient SeHui (Park JinJoo) make her musical debut while enlisting the help of top musical star, Pyo GyuTae (Min WooHyuk). Towards the end of the musical, SeHui is joined by her boyfriend who also had to give up his musical dreams due to health complications. It’s a touching moment for all and makes you believe that every dream is attainable.
4. GyeoRee’s Sleepy Confession
Although GyeoRee and YeonJoo started off on the wrong foot, they eventually grew on each other. Through daily interactions and witnessing their heartfelt sincerity during wishes, the two developed mutual feelings of affection. The signs couldn’t have been more obvious and it was only a matter of time before the two ended up together. GyeoRee might have been sick and under the weather, but his confession is cute nonetheless as it serves as proof that his hardened heart has started to open once again.
5. YeonJoo Takes The Initiative
What usually comes after a confession? A heart-fluttering kiss. But that had to wait until after YeonJoo’s date course of CPR training, volunteer work, and rock climbing. Although GyeoRee is the first to act, he becomes shy and pulls back after a short peck. Afterwards, it’s YeonJoo’s turn to take the lead, making the kiss scene hot and passionate.
